In a double-blind placebo-controlled study of 60 volunteers: “After 1 year, only one tumor was diagnosed among the 30 GTCs-treated men (incidence, approximately 3%), whereas nine cancers were found among the 30 placebo-treated men (incidence, 30%)… GTCs-treated men showed values constantly lower with respect to placebo-treated ones. International Prostate Symptom Score and quality of life scores of GTCs-treated men with coexistent benign prostate hyperplasia improved, reaching statistical significance in the case of International Prostate Symptom Scores. No significant side effects or adverse effects were documented” … Department of Medicina Sperimentale, Sezione di Biochimica, University of Parma

“In 2008, follow-up results to [THE PRECEEDING] study were published, indicating that the inhibitory effects of green tea catechins on prostate cancer progression were long-lasting” … National Cancer Institute at NIH

“These results provide strong evidence of both anti-mutagenic, anti-proliferative and anti-neoplastic activities for both black and green tea extracts. Such anticancer mechanisms may well be responsible for the cancer preventive efficacies seen in both experimental and human studies”… Chemoprevention Branch, Division of Cancer Prevention, National Cancer Institute, NIH

“The inhibition of tumorigenesis by green or black tea preparations has been demonstrated in animal models on different organ sites such as skin, lung, oral cavity, esophagus, forestomach, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas, and mammary gland”… Laboratory for Cancer Research, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

“We conclude that regular consumption of green tea can protect against breast cancer”… The School of Population Health, The University of Western Australia

“This study suggests that regular consumption of green tea may reduce CRC risk in women”… Department of Medicine, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine

“Green tea may be associated with a decreased risk of advanced prostate cancer”… Epidemiology and Prevention Division, Research Center for Cancer Prevention and Screening, National Cancer Center, Tokyo, Japan

“These data suggest that the chemopreventive effects of green tea polyphenols may involve a p57 mediated survival pathway in normal epithelial cells, while oral carcinoma cells undergo an apoptotic pathway. Therefore, regular consumption of green tea could be beneficial in the prevention of oral cancer”… Department of Oral Biology and Maxillofacial Pathology, School of Dentistry, Medical College of Georgia

“All the results suggest that consumption of green tea is a practical and effective cancer preventive both before cancer onset and after cancer treatment”…. Saitama Cancer Center Research Institute, Japan

“Inhibition of VEGF transcription appeared to be one of the molecular mechanism(s) involved in the antiangiogenic effects of green tea”… Department of Surgery, Division of Oncology and Center for Human Nutrition, University of California, Los Angeles

“Epidemiologic and preclinical data support the oral cancer prevention potential of green tea extract (GTE)”… Department of Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center

“The present study provides direct evidence that tea polyphenols may act as chemopreventive agents against gastric and esophageal cancer development”… USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine
